They should have brought in a fixer for Michael Clayton

If I hadn’t read the back of the DVD case before watching the movie, I would have had no idea what was going on. Then again, reading it didn’t help that much.

It doesn’t help when George Clooney is the main character in a confusing movie, because he’s at the top of the list when it comes to actors I can’t see as anyone but their real selves.

If it wasn’t for Tom Wilkinson’s performance, this section would have gotten a 1 as well.

I’m being lenient on this section, but color filters were overused here.

Product Placement

A few Band Aid boxes…or maybe the same Band Aid box in two separate scenes. Who knows? I was barely able to keep up with the plot. I can’t be expected to find products, too.

Yet another GetGlue recommendation that proves GetGlue is a bad source of recommendations.

  1. Awesome movie, understated and full of class. Highly recommend this film, four out of five.

  2. Another case of you in the minority (not that I don’t respect that ;)). I honestly haven’t read a single MIXED review for this film, let alone a negative one.

  3. LOL at the GetGlue comment. In the words of Homer Simpson, “It’s funny because it’s true!”

  4. I have to admit that I disagree with your take on this one. I think that this might be worth a second look if you feel up to it.

    • Disagreeing’s welcome around here! Maybe someone will suggest this one in next year’s contest.

I’m beginning to think I did miss something with this one, though, since everyone is disagreeing haha

      • The first time I saw it was in the theater and I didn’t love it. When I got a copy from a friend I took the time and found out that Clooney can be more versatile than I thought. Still, stick to your guns, I love a good argument.

  5. I actually liked this movie and understood it. I agree with you that George Clooney (is overrated) can’t make you think of him as a character without seeing who he is in real life. The story was interesting, but it seems like Clooney has the same personality in all his movies, it’s annoying. Countdown begins tomorrow for The Hobbit! :D

  6. Sorry you didn’t enjoy this one. I loved it!

  7. I really didn’t like this one, either! I was expecting more, but this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth… I could barely follow this, and it was really boring for a thriller. Both George Clooney and Tilda Swinton’s performances were fine, but she did not deserve that Oscar. Amy Ryan for Gone Baby Gone was completely robbed.
