On any normal day, I’d review Lethal Weapon 3

You guessed it. Director’s Cut again.

This one was more cohesive than the first two, but they still stuffed it with lengthy scenes that had little to do with the plot.

One thing I can say for these films is that the character development is excellent.

Too bad the villains are always incredibly bland, though.

Another thing these films have going for them is a consistency with visuals. Mel Gibson’s ever-shrinking mullet is the only thing that looks any different.

Product Placement

They switched the Pepsi out for Coke this time around. That’s one thing that annoys me about product placement. It actually takes away from the realism rather than adding to it, because product placement only allows one brand to exist within the universe of the movie.

I’m probably not going to come back to these films, but who knows?

  1. Technically, I don’t think Mel Gibson sports a mullet in any of the Lethal Weapon movies as I BELIEVE a mullet requires that the sides of the hair be shaved – he’s just got serious 80s due in these movies – well, except the last one
