Grab a bandit mask, it’s a Fantastic Mr. Fox review

FantasticMrFox

Plot

It took me a little while to warm up to this, but once it started going, it got good really fast and stayed good all the way until the end.

Characters

George Clooney can’t even stop being George Clooney to me when he’s an animated fox.

The characters were all a lot of fun, but the opossum was the best.

Visuals

Wes Anderson’s visual stylings lend themselves very well to stop-motion animation, which I already love anyway.

Product Placement

Obviously none of that going on.

Rewatchability

Best use of my monthly free Redbox code yet.

  1. One of my favorite films by Anderson. Nice review.

  2. Not my favorite from Anderson, but definitely very impressive considering he’s never been known for animation. Good review.

  3. My favorite Wes Anderson film. Very fun!

  4. I can still remember how amazed I was when I watched this movie! :D

  5. Today I watched James Bond’s latest movie! It was nice! Loved the villain, even though he dies at the end (of course). Hm. Another G.C. movie and he’s a fox now! I mean, not in “that” sense. He’s sooo not my type. Ugh….

  6. YES!!!! Hilarious film! I love it!

  7. This was one of my favorite books when I was a kid. When the movie first came out, the trailers didn’t do it any justice, and I thought it would suck. I’m so glad my kids convinced me to watch it when it came out on DVD.
I love Kylie’s blank stares. Reminds me of a ferret I used to have and the blank stares she’d give me, as though she was having a brain glitch. :)

  8. I haven’t seen this movie, but two of my four kids have. They actually didn’t like it at all. They watched it because they are fans of Roald Dahl (the author of the book), but found the movie boring and the animation poorly done. If kids don’t even like a movie that was meant for kids, then I’m not going to bother with it myself.

  9. “George Clooney can’t even stop being George Clooney to me when he’s an animated fox.” YES, it’s so irritating…But I loved this movie anyway
