Don’t taste my pants, it’s an Envy review

Envy review

Look at that. I enjoyed another movie that has a single-digit RottenTomatoes score. Aren’t opinions fun, you guys?

Information about the TIWAM anniversary contest will be posted later this afternoon.

Despite revolving around a somewhat gross premise, this movie was much funnier than I was expecting it to be.

Then again, the DVD cover didn’t exactly put my expectations very high.

Jack Black is best when he isn’t “rocking out” or whatever it is he does, and Ben Stiller is best when he’s playing straitlaced characters.

On top of that, they threw Christopher Walken, Amy Poehler, and Rachel Weisz in there and made this movie have one of the most fun casts I’ve seen in a while.

I have a feeling that both the horse and the mansion were computer generated at least part of the time, but that’s not a bad thing.

Product Placement

The movie revolves around a fake product, but, despite wanting to give this movie a 3.0 overall, I had to take a point off for the other things that popped up.

I had never heard of this movie before, and just bought it to fill the “Buy 5 get 2 free” quota at the DVD store.

Even so, I haven’t had this much fun watching a movie in months.

  1. This was the review that led me to discover your site. I was an extra in this film (during their kids school performance-I was a “parent” in the crowd). I must admit, when I tell people I have been an extra in a movie I always end up saying “I was in a pretty bad movie called Envy…don’t worry if you haven’t heard of it…it was pretty crap.” Glad to now at least someone enjoyed it. Different strokes for different folks.
