Put on your reindeer jumper, it’s a Bridget Jones’s Diary review

BridgetJonesDiary

If you ask me, it should be “Bridget Jones’ Diary”, but nobody bothered to seek out my grammatical expertise.

Plot

Things were going okay until the ridiculousness of the third act.

Characters

I did appreciate that the two main male characters didn’t get along for reasons that didn’t directly involve Bridget Jones.

Visuals

They did a few interesting shots and angles and whatnot. What the heck, I’ll give it to them.

Product Placement

Ah, the days when MSN was a thing. In this movie, it wasn’t a big enough thing to take off for though.

Rewatchability

I am not the target audience of this film, and I tried to take that into consideration when scoring it.

  1. The grammar in the title is going to haunt me for the rest of my days now. Haha

  2. Not really too much they could change, plot-wise considering the screen play was based on a book which was based on Pride and Prejudice.

    • Yeah if I was rating the book, I’d give it a 2 for plot too. It’s like the story took a bizarre turn that didn’t fit with the rest of the movie.

  3. My sister, mom, and I sat down to watch this movie and I was the only that made it to the end… it’s got a weird sense of humor that I would say just isn’t for everyone…

    • I always say that “British humor” is an oxymoron.

      • so you’re saying British people aren’t funny or have no sense of humor? either way… so rude… they’re humor is just quirky… you want to know so weird humor… watch some french stuff… you ever seen Amelie… it’s definitely interesting…

        • I meant it in regards to me not personally enjoying it. Saying otherwise would go against TIWAMs “everyone’s opinion matters” policy ;)

  4. It’s a surprisingly good translation of book to screen. I enjoy it and it actually got me reading the books.
