This Blood Diamond review is a girl’s best friend

There are a lot of similarities between The Impossible and this movie (a man separated from his family during a crisis does everything he can to get them back, etc.). But where that one did everything wrong, this one got it all right.

Wow. Djimon Hounsou is really good here. Plus, I’m not allowed to give less than a 3 when Jennifer Connelly is involved, or some of you guys will beat me up.

With all the explosions and gunfire going on, it would be easy to shake the camera all over the place, but they didn’t.

Product Placement

A few diamond companies were mentioned or referred to indirectly, but there aren’t but a few of them anyway, so it doesn’t matter.

I was already against the underhanded operations of the diamond industry, but now I have a movie to help back me up.
