Listen to the rain with an At First Sight review

At First Sight review

The fact that it was based on a true story made it more interesting than it would have been otherwise, but it was a bit overly sappy at times.

I’m guessing this was made just prior to Val Kilmer’s descent into madness.

Mira Sorvino’s name seems familiar, but I’m not sure I’ve seen her in anything else.

I could make so many insensitive jokes here, but I won’t. The effects used during the “eye unveiling” scene were just the right amount of disorienting.

Product Placement

This movie has more Coke cans than the backseat of my first car.

I learned a lot about blindness that I didn’t already know, but this movie is just too long to enjoy more than a few times.

  1. So weird. My boyfriend and I were just talking about this movie last night. We were talking about Val Kilmer films and this one came up. I haven’t seen it since college, but I remember enjoying it. It probably helped that I was a psych major and we discussed the real story it was based on.

  2. IT WAS COTTON CANDY!!! sorry… did you ever see The Saint… that movie and Tombstone are the only movies I really like him in…

  3. Good review. About Mira Sorvino, she was Quentin Tarantino’s fiancΓ©e for some time. She was in something a few years ago that was pretty famous, but I forget what it was. Her father Paul Sorvino was in Goodfellas.
