Free the bear, it’s an An Unfinished Life review

An Unfinished Life review

Plot

It’s like Safe Haven and The Secret Life of Bees and Free Willy and Hope Floats and that episode of King of the Hill where they go to Montana and…it’s all been done before is what I’m saying.

I’m taking a second point off because the characters kept making incredibly confusing, spur-of-the-moment decisions.

Characters

Jennifer Lopez seemed a little worse than usual, probably because she was surrounded by better actors.

Visuals

A few oddly framed shots early on made me think I’d be giving this a 2 here, but things normalized after a while.

Product Placement

Only the tiniest mentions, and tiny mentions aren’t worth bothering about.

Rewatchability

It seems like “disgruntled older person learns their son fathered a child before he died” is a pretty popular movie plot, but since this is the first one I’ve seen for TIWAM, I have nothing to compare it to.

  1. well it’s like a little piece of him lived on and so they get a second chance sort of thing and their loved one really isn’t gone… and so on and so forth… I thought you reviewed Catch and Release… same sort… though I thought it was pretty good… if you haven’t seen it maybe you should… along with all the other movies I’ve listed… seriously… I need to make a list…

  2. “Jennifer Lopez seemed a little worse than usual, probably because she was surrounded by better actors.” lol
